Cress
We were learning how to grow cress. First we put cotton wool and water in the bowl and then we put the seeds in the bowl. After we had put our name on the bowl, we put it on the table by the sun so it can have sun, water, warmth and nutrients to grow. When it was ready after two weeks, we took our cress home. This is how my cress changed over time.

Welcome To Our First Ever Snagit!
Here is a new video that I created with my buddy Sylvia.
We had to create a Snagit with a buddy from Room 9 to show which movie we liked from the film festival and why.

Film Festival
When we went to the Film Festival which was the 11th of November we went on the bus to Sylvia Park. When we came off the bus Room 10 had to follow Ofa and Mika to the escalators. Then we had to sit next to the elevators and had to wait for the kids from other schools to come down from the movies so that we could go and watch the films from our school and some other schools. When we were watching the films, my favourite film was The Journey! What a Cybersmart Journey!

What Maniakalani Learners Share Online?
When we made What manaiakalani learners share online? You can share what you like and what you wan't to do in the future but.... when you share something make sure it makes sense and you are positive for what you are sharing online. You have to be careful to what you post and you write. So be cybersmart!

My Comic Collage
When we were making a comic collage, we had to take photos of us doing these four steps. The reason why we had to do a comic collage was to make sure we will look after our chromebook safely. When we were finished our comic collage, we all had a look at them as a class and there were mainly photos of Malae!

Golden Biscuits
On 25th April 2015, it was the 100th anniversary of ANZAC soldiers landing at Gallipoli. We learnt lots of things about life and war for the ANZAC soldiers when we visited Auckland Museum in April. We created poppies, we have written poems and letters about ANZAC and World War 1.

Yummy Clay Pizza
We have been learning about fractions and yesterday we were practicing how to make pizzas and sausage rolls. When we were finished we had to cut our sausage rolls and our pizzas into halves and quarters.

My Snail Trail
This is one of the first Digital Learning Objects that we created and it was quite tricky. I chose somewhere in the world I would like to visit one day. Then I found an image of it on Google images. Next, I cut around a photograph of my head using Pixlr so I could put myself in that place. Maybe I will travel there in the future in real life.

State of Origin
Malo e lelei,
My name is Jessie and I am a year five student at Ruapotaka School. I am 10 years old. My culture is Maori. My teacher’s name is Mrs Buchanan.
My name is Jessie and I am a year five student at Ruapotaka School. I am 10 years old. My culture is Maori. My teacher’s name is Mrs Buchanan.
My favourite subjects at school are reading and maths. In maths we are learning to co-operate with others by problem solving. My goals are to learn my 8 and 9 times tables. My favourite author is Roald Dahl. In reading we are learning to answer questions as we read the story.
My Manaiakalani teacher is Mrs Grant. We are learning to create a positive digital footprint. We have been making decisions about what personal information we will share online and what personal information we will keep private. We create a lot of digital footprints when we look at individual blogs. When we have Manaiakalani learning, we learn new things every day. My smart footprint is my favourite thing we have done so far with Mrs Grant.
My favourite State of Origin team is Queensland. My favourite player is Justin Hodges. My favourite sport is netball. I really like the Magic netball team.
I admire my family because they do everything they can do to help me and they inspire me to do things. When I grow up I would like to be a police officer.
